How it Works

TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® coatings can be used on Wood, Metal and Stucco.

What is an exterior coating?

TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® coatings undergo extensive testing for fade resistance. Every 1,000 hours of testing is equivalent to approximately 2+ years of exposure...5,000 hours is equivalent to 10-12 years.

On average, TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® is 100% more heat reflective than the conventional technology of competitive products.

A nearly two-year study by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory found that TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® Coating Systems:

  • • Significantly reduce exterior wall temperatures while helping reduce energy consumption
  • • Provide superior resistance to fading as compared to conventional paints - even in dark colors
  • • COOLWALL® has been tested by the DOE to reduce Cooling Cost by up to 21.9%.
  • (Percentage of savings are based on the DOE study which showed savings ranging from 4.2 - 21.9%)*

Exposure Comparison

*Percentage of cooling cost and surface temperature reductions will vary based on color chosen, geographical location, climate condition, and substrate type. In some climates there may be a heating penalty. For more information, visit www.texcote.com.

  • Help reduce energy use
  • Prevent moisture penetration
  • Reduce building fatigue
  • Prevent colors from fading
  • Lower maintenance costs
  • Are an environmentally friendly “green” product

In fact, COOLWALL® is the only coating system tested effective by the US Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory to save you on cooling costs. More importantly TEX·COTE® SUPER COTE™ COOLWALL® is the only true “Green” coating system, and TEX·COTE® is a member of the US Green Building Council.
